Cryotherapy uses a liquid nitrogen spray to cool tissue to subzero temperatures. When applied to targeted tissue, this can be used to remove benign (non-cancerous) lesions from the skin.
Cryotherapy is useful to help with viral warts, verrucae, benign skin tags or seborrheic keratoses. It can also be used to treat sun spots known as solar lentigines. Some lesions may require a single round of treatment with cryotherapy in clinic, whilst for more tenacious lesions like warts, up to 6 treatments may be needed.
